Delightful hotel in a really quiet area just off centre of town, good restaurants and a train station so ideally placed en-route for travelling up to Scotland or South, for instance. The breakfast with particularly good local black pudding.

The whole place was perfectly clean and the staff were really helpful and affable. The English breakfast was vegan and sensational with so many options. The location was perfect, relatively close to a ruined medieval castle. The hotel was in a fairly quiet area, very close to the festival and the shops of Penrith. The venue met the purpose.
